2. Terms of use
Terms of use are not a mandatory document. They describe the rules for using the site and the account. To be clearly enforceable they must have been brought to your attention (footer link) and, for the account area, accepted at sign-up or checkout.
2.1. Purpose and services
MPConvert provides an online video editor, conversion and transform tools, account-linked cloud storage, AI features (credits or quotas depending on the plan), and made-to-order editing services. Plan details appear on the Pricing page and in the Terms of sale.
Some basic features may be used without an account (guest mode, local or session data). An account is required for cloud storage, subscriptions and most server-side or AI processing.
2.2. Account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information. We may suspend or close access for serious breach, fraud, a security threat or non-payment.
You may delete your account from My account → Security (checkbox). Commercial effects (immediate loss of access, no refund except where required by law) are set out in the Terms of sale.
2.3. Your content and intellectual property
You keep your rights in files and projects you upload or create. You only authorise us to host and process them to provide the requested service (including via technical or AI processors when you run the tool). You warrant that you have the necessary rights.
MPConvert site elements (marks, logos, text, interfaces, software), other than your content, are protected. Unauthorised reproduction is prohibited. Third-party images, illustrations or text used on the site remain their authors’ property.
2.4. Prohibited uses
You must not use the service unlawfully, bypass quotas, payments or security, access others’ accounts, disrupt the service, or resell it without written consent (other than normal use of your own exports).
2.5. Availability and liability
We aim for reasonable availability, without a guarantee of continuous access. AI outputs are provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for proven direct damage over twelve months is limited to amounts you paid for the relevant services (zero for the free plan). Nothing excludes wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
2.6. Governing law
French law. In a dispute, attempt an amicable settlement then the competent French courts, subject to mandatory consumer protections (see also mediation in the Terms of sale).
3. Terms of sale
These terms govern the sale of subscriptions and editing services. Communicating them to consumers is mandatory (French Consumer Code, Articles L. 111-1 et seq.). For business customers they are provided on request. On commercial points they prevail over the Terms of use.
3.1. Seller
Valentin Gephine, sole trader, trading as MPConvert — full identity in section 1. Contact: [email protected].
3.2. Service description
MPConvert mainly sells:
- online access to the editor, conversion/transform tools, cloud storage and, depending on the plan, AI features (credits or quotas);
- made-to-order editing (quote or service page).
The free (freemium) plan is not a sale; it has limits (storage, watermark, no AI credits, etc.). Paid features are those shown on Pricing at checkout.
3.3. Price
Paid plans (including Starter, Premium, Pro) are billed monthly or yearly. Unless the Pricing page states otherwise, yearly billing equals ten (10) months charged for twelve (12) months of access. Prices on Pricing at payment prevail. Unless stated otherwise, consumer prices include applicable tax when collected; tax details appear on the invoice.
3.4. Order, payment and performance
- Subscriptions require an account and payment processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (and affiliates). MPConvert does not store full card numbers.
- The contract is formed upon successful payment (or as shown in the plan-change flow).
- Invoices and receipts are available via the account or the Stripe portal.
- Access to the digital service is provided immediately after successful payment (sign-in and plan activation).
3.5. Renewal, plan changes, cancellation
- Renewal: automatic for the same period unless cancelled or changed before renewal.
- Upgrade: generally immediate, with Stripe proration.
- Downgrade or yearly-to-monthly: at the end of the paid period.
- Subscription cancellation: via billing management. Renewal stops; paid access continues until the end of the period already paid. Except where required by law, started periods are non-refundable.
- Account deletion: distinct from cancellation. Access ends immediately, with no refund (see § 3.11).
- Non-payment: paid features may be suspended until payment is restored, then the account may revert to freemium.
AI credits on paid plans: monthly allowance; unused credits expire at period end and do not roll over. Insufficient balance blocks the action. After cancellation, cloud files may remain downloadable/deletable for thirty (30) days, without new uploads or exports; then a purge down to the freemium cap may occur.
3.6. Withdrawal right (consumers)
Consumers generally have fourteen (14) days to withdraw from a distance contract. If you were not informed of this right, the period may be extended as provided by law.
For digital content and digital services supplied immediately, the withdrawal right may no longer apply if you expressly agreed to early performance and acknowledged losing that right (Article L. 221-28). By subscribing and accessing MPConvert immediately, you are informed of this rule.
To withdraw when the right still applies: email [email protected] or a request from your account. Since 19 June 2026 French law requires a one-click withdrawal function; until it is available in the interface, use the channels above. Business customers do not have this consumer right.
3.7. Made-to-order editing
Packages on the site are offers that may require a quote. Unless otherwise agreed in writing: price and scope are those of the quote/order; timescales are indicative unless firmly committed; revisions follow the service page or quote; after full payment you receive usage rights in the deliverables for your needs, while MPConvert retains its tools and pre-existing materials. Withdrawal may also be excluded if performance started with your express agreement before the end of the 14 days.
3.8. Payment terms and late payment
Subscriptions are paid in advance by card (or another method offered by Stripe). For quoted work, the quote schedule applies (deposit, balance).
Between businesses, late payment automatically triggers penalties at three times the legal interest rate, plus a €40 recovery lump sum (French Commercial Code, Article L. 441-10), without prejudice to further damages. No early-payment discount applies unless the quote says otherwise.
3.9. Statutory warranties
Consumers benefit, with no contrary clause:
- from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (Consumer Code, Articles L. 217-3 et seq.);
- from the hidden-defects warranty (Civil Code, Articles 1641 et seq.), where the contract concerns goods.
Claims: [email protected].
3.10. Liability
MPConvert provides the service with reasonable diligence. You are responsible for how you use the tools, imported files and exports. To the extent permitted by law, MPConvert’s liability for proven direct damage over twelve months is limited to amounts paid for the relevant services. Nothing excludes wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights (including statutory warranties).
3.11. Account deletion (no refund)
Account deletion from My account → Security after checking the box:
- immediately cancels any active subscription;
- immediately ends all access (paid and free), including remaining time in a period already paid;
- no refund of amounts paid for started periods or unused time, except where a legal obligation still applies (withdrawal still available under § 3.6);
- erasure of credentials, projects, cloud media and usage data, as described in the privacy policy.
This is not a subscription cancellation at period end (§ 3.5). To keep access until the date already paid, cancel the subscription without deleting the account.
3.12. Intellectual property and personal data
Content and site usage rules are in the Terms of use. Personal-data processing is described in the privacy policy.
3.13. Governing law, courts and mediation
French law. In a dispute, an amicable attempt is requested (email above). Failing agreement, the competent French courts have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer rules (including the courts of the consumer’s domicile).
Consumers may use a consumer mediator free of charge after a written complaint left unanswered satisfactorily for two months. The mediator is being appointed; name and contact details will be published here once affiliated. You may also use the EU online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
4. Privacy and cookies

Valentin Gephine — MPConvert, 8 bis rue Abel, 75012 Paris — [email protected]. No data protection officer is appointed (limited processing of a small organisation); the email above is used to exercise rights.
4.2. Data we process
- account data (email, authentication, profile);
- media, projects and metadata in your cloud space;
- billing and subscription data via Stripe;
- usage data for quotas and security (counters, technical logs);
- analytics data only if non-essential trackers are enabled with your consent (see cookies).
We do not request special-category data for standard use. Your media may contain such information; you remain responsible for it.
4.3. Purposes and legal bases

- Payment and invoicing: contract and legal obligation.
- Security, abuse prevention, technical logs: legitimate interest.
- Audience measurement: consent, if and when a non-essential analytics tool is enabled.
- Responding to requests and rights: legal obligation / contract.
4.4. Recipients
The publisher, and necessary processors: Google (Firebase / Cloud), Stripe (payments), AI or media processors only when you run the tool. Transfers outside the EU may occur (notably the United States) with the processors’ safeguards (standard contractual clauses, adequacy). We do not sell your data.
4.5. Retention
- account, media, cloud projects: for the life of the account, then deleted on closure (or 30-day retention after a paid subscription ends, without closure, as in the Terms of sale);
- invoices and accounting records: restricted archive for ten (10) years (French Commercial Code, Article L. 123-22); GDPR Article 17(3)(b) allows us to keep them while that duty applies;
- security logs: limited period needed for security.
Deleting the account does not erase invoices already issued. You no longer have access to the service or your media.
4.6. Your rights
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability (where applicable), post-mortem instructions, and a complaint to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr). Exercise: My account → Security or [email protected]. Proof of identity may be requested.
4.7. Security
Appropriate technical and organisational measures (authentication, access control, encryption in transit where applicable). No system is perfectly secure; use a strong password.
4.8. Cookies and trackers
A cookie or tracker is a file or identifier stored on your device. We distinguish:
- Necessary for the service (session, authentication, security, payment). No consent.
- Others (audience measurement, advertising): prior consent, with refusal as easy as acceptance (CNIL).
The site currently has no consent banner (CMP): only technical cookies tied to the account and payment are used. No Google Analytics-type audience tool is enabled without consent. If such a tool is added, a consent collection will be put in place.
You may refuse or delete cookies in the browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login or payment.
5. Rights holders

If content accessible via MPConvert infringes your rights, email [email protected] with your identity, the right claimed, the content URL and a good-faith statement. We will review the request and may remove or restrict access where justified.
